Verse of the Week

Phillipians 4:5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. (G)The Lord is near

This verse really stood out to me.

The first part talks about how as christians we have a gentle spirit. It doesn't say that we need to have a gentle spirit but that we already have one because of Christ's working in our lives. The second part of the verse is very calming. It says that the Lord is near which should always be recognized. Most people would probably say that it means we should know that he with us in hard times(which is amazingly true) but even in the nonhard times he is right beside us directing us in His will. Clearly you could say that the Lord is always watching us and is our ultimate "gaurdian angle" but if you think about it, even though he is always around us protecting us, God is there to direct you to do the will of the Father not to help us hide from the world but to put us in it so we can proclaim that Jesus is Lord. Many many people in other countries die every day for professing the truth of Jesus and that is what we should do every day; not just during easter or christmas but in every possible way. The Lord is near us, not just to protect us and watch over us, but also to give us oppertunities to profess that Jesus was put on a cross so He could take the punishment for our sins so we can have a relationship with God.

Forever an Ever
Aaron Spiro

Forever and ever we will sing your praises
Forever and ever we will glorify your name
Above all names every name
Merciful Lord Jesus
You took the cross to free us
Conquered death and sin
In a battle they could never win
For you are the first the last
Lord of future Lord of past
You reign in glory as the king
You reign in glory as the king
Receive the praise we sing

Forever and ever we will praise the lord and worship Him. This is exactly what we will be doing in heaven and it is exactly what we should be doing now. In whatever we do we should do it for the lord givung Him thanks; and He is the past and the future, we have a lot to look forward to in Heaven and a lot to do now. What also stuck out to me was that how our lord conqured death and sin in a battle the couldn't win. He is so musch more powerful than us that he is more powerful than something that we used to be enslaved to; but now that he has released us from the power of the sin, we can have a relationship with Him and worship Him forever and ever.

Setting a good example

I started wrestling about a week ago and I found out my Coach was a Christian. He told my fellow wrestlers not to say any filthy words and not to put Jesus Christ's name in vain. I thought he would be a pretty good coach untill he started cussing. That doesn't show a good example to the wrestlers about being a Christian when our coach condradicted himself. It made me think about when I'm hanging around non-christians and how I should set a good example for a christian. Just one word that could easily slip out could ruin their thoughts about christianity. Expecialy me being a teen minister and our campus lunch leader for our school. As christians, we need to be extra carefull about what we do when around non-christians.

Show Me Your Glory

God's Glory, where do I start??!!!. There is a song called show me your glory by Third day. "I caught a glimpse of Your splendorIn the corner of my eyeThe most beautiful thing I've ever seen And it was like a flash of lightningReflected off the skyAnd I know I'll never be the same" Wow!!! The LORD appeared in the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood at the doorway of the tent. Dueteronomy 31:15. if I was Moses, I would probaly fall straight on my face and worship God.(when God asks you to fall. you say: how hard). Just like when God would write the commandments up on the mountain and Moses would take them down to the people, his face was glowing(literaly) because of Gods Glory. And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. Exodus 33:18-23
18And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory
19And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
20And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
21And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
22And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
23And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen
"Whoever that will see my face will Die" Now thats Glory beyond all Glories. I cant wait till Christ returns and we see Him up on the clouds during the rapture. I can't wait to see God's Glory.

On the Ocean Floor

There's a song by Audio Adrenaline called Ocean Floor. It says that our sins are on the ocean floor. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” Hebrews 8:12. As underserving as we are, Christ forgives us and throws our sins on the ocean floor to be forgotten (even though we still get punished because of Gods greatness). "He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea." - Micah 7:19. Just as God has forgiven our sins, let us forgive others when they wrong us just as God forgave us. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32. Why not next time your non-christian friends does somthing bad to you, tell him/her the gospel and that you will forgive him just as Christ forgives our sins when we accept Him.

Nothing Compares

You guys have probaly all heard the song "Nothing compares". That song is very true, "nothing compares to the greatness of knowing You." I have found myself in the past not thanking the Lord that I was a follower of Him. We should all thank Him day and night that God chose us out of so many people to follow Him. Without Christ's love we would be destined to Eternal punishment in hell with no chance of escape, but He saved us from it by living a perfect life and dying a painfull death on the cross and then 3 days later rising again. What forgiving, unconditional love the Lord has for us sinners. Thanking Him day and night is not even enough to thank Him fully, so lets stop giving our attention (that God desires for Himself) to wordly things that won't help us in the long run, and give our attention to the God almighty, who gives it all to us.
